What learning looks like

Skills with a purpose.

Learners move from a sketch to a digital model using beginner-friendly CAD tools, then take that design through slicing and printing. Along the way, they practise measuring for a purpose, checking fit against a real object, and revising a design based on what the printed result shows.

Learning outcomes

  • Sketch an idea and translate it into a simple 3D digital model
  • Use measurements and scale to design a part that fits a real object
  • Prepare a model for printing, including basic slicing settings
  • Compare a printed prototype with its intended fit and identify what to change
  • Revise a design through more than one iteration based on test results
